Come explore McDougall Cottage at Doors Open!

Learn the stories of the two families of Scottish settlers who first called this lovely stone Cottage "home", explore the more-than-a-century old, hand-painted trompe l'oeil friezes and murals and hear the fascinating story of their "reveal", stroll the beautiful heritage gardens and don't forget to take in the "Currents of Change - Inspiring Action Along the Grand River" exhibit - through a blend of history, ecology, Indigenous and settler narratives, this intriguing exhibit examines the profound and dynamic connection between the Grand River, Waterloo Region’s heritage, and our collective future.

We'll be offering samples of that ever-popular Scottish treat - shortbread - and there'll be crafts for the kids too!
